“I knew I wanted to be a ballerina since I was 3, but my path has not been easy! Along the way, I became a mother, a survivor and a teacher, giving up the opportunities to dance that were open to me in pursuit of more basic needs. After seventeen years of denial, I chose to return to the studio, relearn the technique from scratch and heal my soul. I believe in the power of the arts and all the tears, blood and sweat that goes into it is worth it if my dancing moves even any one person towards acknowledging their own beauty.”
