about the workshop:
In this beginner jazz class, students will learn the basics of contemporary jazz dance. The class will begin with a warm-up, move on to progressions across the floor, and conclude with a dance combination that celebrates the joy of movement. The class is guided by the Simonson dance technique and incorporates anatomical alignment, somatic awareness, and rhythmic movement patterns set to jazz, soul, and R&B music. No prior dance experience is required for this class, which aims to nurture each student’s natural capacity for movement in an inclusive and supportive environment.
Join us for this unique opportunity to learn and enjoy dance together.
